Plantronics Voyager 510SL May 10, 2010 M. White (San Antonio, TX) A bity pricey, but this is an excellent product. Oonce I got a set of equipment that worked it was very easy to use - the first shipment had a defective headset, i.e. one that wouldn't synch with the base station. This was an anomaly I'm sure, as I've owned 2 Plantronics Voyager 510 headsets in the past w/out problems. I've been using the very heavily at work for a month or so and I'm sold - will buy one for the home office too.
- Easy to install the handset lifter
- easy to synch the headset to the base station
- easy to synch the headset to my Blackberry
Good Buy April 12, 2010 KH (Newport Beach, CA USA) The product is great to have for hands-free purposes. The only problem I've experienced is the lift cradle doesn't fit well on my phone. I've had to secure my handset to the cradle with rubberbands to prevent the handset from falling off while disconnecting calls.
Sent it back December 23, 2009 Richard Martin I bought this device thinking it would be what I needed. A simple to use, bluetooth hands free phone. Everything was fine except for the automatic lifter. I didn't realize it only worked with select land lines. I wont buy a special corded phone so I sent it back and bought a different one that is from Plantronics and cordless.
good sound quality December 8, 2009 R. Drewes Pro's: excellent sound quality, compact, lightweight, ability to switch between office phone and cell phone and battery life is actually decent.
Con's: The lifter needs to be finessed, not all the instructions are online or in the manual.
Overall I would recommend this product. I have had a variety of Plantronics corded headsets, and bluetooth headsets. The sound quality is at least as good as the corded headsets - both speaking and listening. The fact there is no cords keeps my coffee in the cup, and it's a pretty comfortable on the ear. Obviously, there's more weight than a bluetooth headset for cell phones, but when I'm busy it's unnoticeable. Being able to answer both cell and office phones is sweet. No more headsets in each ear looking like a cyborg.
The only negative - and it is no big deal - is the lifter. It's designed to mount to all phones and it's just taking a little time to place it perfectly on mine. It lifts with no problem, but doesnt seat the phone back down correctly, so I nudge it each time to hang up. I'm sure I can finetune this with a little time.
Best Bluetooth Headset I've Ever Owned April 7, 2009 William McCurdy (Winthrop, MA United States) I use this headset with a digital Siemens phone system and a BlackBerry 8800. I am very impressed with how the headset can seamlessly switch between a call on the cell phone to the desk phone and back again without any issues. I've been wanting something like this for a long time, but just assumed it didn't exist. Set up was very easy, the hardest thing was waiting the recommended three hours to get a full charge before using it. The headset it self is the most comfortable one I've ever worn and I have gone through a few of them. For the fist time I don't have to have the volume cranked up all the way or have to jam the earbud in my ear canal to hear the person on the other end. I've had no complaints from the people on the other end of the call about the sound quality, very impressive in my office which is a very loud environment.
Great headset!
