Easy Bluetooth choice August 23, 2010 William Dietz (Pittsburgh, PA United States) I bought this Motorola H710 to replace one that I damaged. I have tried about 6 different bluetooth phone headsets and this is by far the best. Flip the little mic arm and it turns on. Close it and it turns off. How easy is that? Good sound, easy to use, stays on the ear without discomfort. There is nothing else I need (except one that won't break when I step on it maybe :-).
Mic failed after approx 9 months July 21, 2010 Midwest Dad (Midwest) It's an ok device when it works. The sound quality is not too bad on the caller end, but not as good on the receiving end. The microphone on this one went after about 9 months. I'm going to try the Plantronics Discovery 975.
motoroloa bluetooth June 4, 2010 D. A. Hubbard (wash .d.c.) one of the few bluetoots still available that does not require an earbud....earbuds are uncomfortable to me after wearing for a period of time....even those that have flimsy ear loops!!
Limited functionality with Droid May 27, 2010 J. Donnelly I owned a Motorola Krave for the past couple years and, after going through a few bluetooth headsets, I discovered the Motorola H710. Every good thing you've read about these headsets is true. Great sound quality and reception. The boom saves on battery power. Most comfortable headsets on the market with none of that "earbud" crap to contend with. These are designed to lay on the ear. The design works so well, sometimes you forget you're wearing the piece. My experience with this unit was so good, that I eventually bought a second one, to cover those times when I talked the battery dead on my first piece. All in all, I couldn't recommend this ear piece highly enough. Now for the bad news.
I recently swapped my Krave for a Motorola Droid. The phone functions worked fine with the H710. However, when I tried using the earpiece with the navigation feature on the Droid, the turn by turn voice feature would not feed audio through the ear piece. A call to Motorola revealed that the H710 profile does not work with some of the functions of the Droid. They apparently have no intention of offering an updated version of the 710 that will work with the Droid. Their suggestion was that I purchase one of their newest bluetooth ear pieces, list price over [...]. Worst part, the bluetooth pieces they recommended is the earbud type. I'm now on the hunt for another bluetooth headset that will work with the Droid, uses the same "laying against the ear" design as the H710, and doesn't cost [...]+ for the privilege. If anyone can suggest an alternative, would appreciate the input.
Great but outdated January 27, 2010 Sean J. Kessel (Dayton,OH) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a nice Bluetooth but it has limitations. Make sure you do a little research on the "profiles" that your phone requires before purchasing. If your phone matches up with it than great but I know the IPHONE does not. This is a good buy as long as it works with your phone. Clarity is good and the earpiece is comfortable. Easy pairing and it comes with a charger.
