Nice, but easy to drain July 31, 2010 Mal-2 I bought these to listen to music from my phone rather than carrying around a separate MP3 player and headphones, and they do this quite nicely. They sound surprisingly good and wear well. They're not so good at picking up my voice on a call, but that is not surprising given that they have no visible microphone. Still, they're adequate.
The minuses:
- very easy to leave on and drain the battery
- battery life isn't that great to start with if using it for music
- touchy about the positioning of the phone FOR MUSIC ONLY (does not seem to matter for calls)
- can't lay on either side without knocking them off
- not real stable when laying on my back either
The last two points are annoying, as I wanted something I could use while lying down -- and this is not it. But for standing, sitting, walking, or otherwise not bumping my head into things, they're comfortable. Unfortunately, they lose signal if I look at them funny, turn my head, put the phone in the wrong pocket, or other things I'm not even sure of. This makes the music skip, and (worse) causes the pitch to wander all over as the phone tries to catch up with the dropped frames. If the phone is sitting on the desk, even clear across the room, they work fine -- but it has problems with the phone in my shirt pocket. Go figure.
Backbeat 903 July 30, 2010 CCR It works well, but some of the options they promot don't work like they say
Constant dropouts July 21, 2010 Justin (Seattle, WA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The audio quality from this unit is decent, when it works. Unfortunately, it generally doesn't work. They experience constant dropouts.
After some experimentation, this is what I've determined:
They're fairly reliable if your phone/bluetooth device is sitting on a table in front of you less than 10 feet away. So, they may be all right at the gym depending on what you do.
They're unusable in the following scenarios (dropouts so much you often can't hear the audio):
Any time you're outdoors.
Any time they're in your pocket.
Any time they're blocked by a portion of your body (eg. your arm).
Any time you turn your head.
You can use them outdoors if you place the phone/device in the top pocket of a backpack that's on your back, but even with a minimally obstructed path from one foot away, still expect some dropouts when you turn your head.
I would only recommend these if you intend to only use them at the gym on a machine such as a treadmill, or perhaps while hiking with a backpack. They also work better indoors, so if you don't venture into the big blue room they might be all right as well.
Amazing July 21, 2010 Mom8xs (ohio) I was looking for wireless headphones because I primarily wanted a bluetooth for music and did not want to just use one ear. I picked these up in the airport before a flight. I loved the convenience of the wireless headphones. They sit fine and adjust well even with glasses. The back cord sometimes hits your collar, but does not dislodge the earpieces. I returned these to the airport because with the iphone the skip feature does not work and I thought they were broken. The first pair also did not seem to get quiet enough for me. Then I saw them on Amazon for half the price and decided to purchase them again. People do say it sounds as if I am in a tunnel when I talk with them, but I can hear clearly. This pair seems to go to a very low volume when needed.
Good wireless- OK Sound July 19, 2010 Z. Law (Michigan) Hey, spent forever looking at blue tooth stereo headsets, and finally decided to go with these.
They are great, low-profile, comfortable headphones. good call quality. work great with the iPhone, but alas, no track skipping as the iPhone software doesn't allow it.
The sound quality is the only thing that has left me wanting. Hollow sounding bass, is my biggest complain, and it often sounds as if the bass is completely clipped out on some of the more bassy songs. I think its a blue tooth limitation but don't know for sure.
