Amazon.com Product Description Setting new standards for mobile voice clarity and personal style, the new Jawbone Bluetooth headset by Aliph represents a complete departure from the gadgetry of the mobile headset industry. Originally developed for military use in extreme environments, Jawbone features NoiseAssassin--a proprietary technology that eliminates background noise from mobile phone conversations. Jawbone is the only Bluetooth headset with a Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) that actually feels your speech, which helps Jawbone distinguish your voice from background noise.
The new Jawbone in black. | | | Widely recognized as the best Bluetooth headset on the market, the new Jawbone is 50 percent smaller than the original, award-winning Jawbone, offer over 4 hours of talk time, and comes with three earbuds and four earloops for a comfortable and personalized fit. Military-Grade NoiseAssassin Technology Developed over years of research for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), Jawbone's NoiseAssassin eliminates real world noise better than competing headset because it's the only hands free device that accurately separates human speech from ambient noise. Unmatched in its ability to remove noise from loud environments like busy streets, cars, crowded cafes, and airports, NoiseAssassin is comprised of two features unique to Jawbone: a patented Voice Activity Sensor (VAS) and proprietary Digital Signal Processing (DSP) algorithms. Jawbone is the only Bluetooth headset with a VAS that feels the speech vibrations from your jaw. This enables Jawbone to capture the distinct frequencies of your voice. Proprietary DSP algorithms work in concert with two powerful microphones and the VAS to accurately model surrounding noise and aggressively eliminate it from the conversation. Conventional "noise suppression" headsets do not have a Voice Activity Sensor and can only estimate when speech is occurring. This causes performance issues like voice distortion, especially in the presence background noise. Not Just a Headset, It's Earwear Made with premium materials like medical-grade plastic and fine leather, the new Jawbone with NoiseAssassin combines science and beauty in the most unassuming, yet richly detailed product. Every effort has been made to contain best in class noise suppression technology in a miniature form that is 50 percent smaller than the original, award-winning Jawbone. The new Jawbone accomplishes a clean and sophisticated look thanks to invisible buttons. Touch-surface technology allows the user to operate switches by lightly pressing the outer shield. Curved and rectilinear to follow the face, the outer shield is lightly textured and inspired by three-dimensional noise abatement surfaces. The infer surface, the one touching your face and creating contact with the Voice Activity Sensor, is gently curved to be ergonomic and comfortable on your skin.

jawbone July 22, 2010 S. West (columbus) the jawbone does not cancel out ANY noise...people can still tell if i am in the car..or outside...it works like any other bluetooth...overpriced for what you get. callers can hear me very clear. that is the good thing, but for noise cancellation - not.
Loved it but went through the wash :( June 27, 2010 Jason Varao loved the this ear piece but it went through the wash 2 days ago very, very bummed just ordered the jawbone Prime hopefully it will be just as good if not better
Hard to keep in ear June 27, 2010 Mike This thing is near imposable to keep to keep in my ear so I can hear it. I even got the Jabra eargels and no luck. I may have weird ears. Then when I try to push it in to hear I hang up on people most of the time.
Jawbone will not honor warranty June 27, 2010 DontBuyJawbone My Jawbone failed after a month of use. They make you return it to the retailer if it fails, and the retailer will not honor the warranty. There is a reason they are so cheap here, the original retail price for these items was $140. Buy at your own risk!
Amazon system is screwing the customers... June 25, 2010 Shawn Dickens (Melbourne, Florida) I think there is a problem with the review system on Amazon and it is screwing the customers and good sellers over.
After I read the last review on here before I purchased. I was thinking I would get the ear loops and buds, but I didn't. You see my purchase was through Unlockedcellphonekings and they sent me a Jawbone II with charger and manual in a plastic bag without the buds or loops. I'm pretty sure it's a refurb which I'm not to happy about, but being shorted the need parts to make it fit me has pissed me off. WTF?
Now for the flaw in Amazon's system. You see the link to the item I bought though the Amazon tracking brings me to the same item, but the current vender on the item is BuyAccessories not Unlockedcellphonekings. So what I think happens is all reviews go to the same spot and it makes people think the wrong things. What needs to happen is the review of the item, should be just that a review of Aliph's Jawbone II and only about the product. If this was the case I think it would be rated higher than 3 starts. Then on the right of the page where you, add the item, to your cart and it tells you the current seller. There should be another review and star rating. This should be a rating of that vender for that item only. You see after I dug into the reviews of Unlockedcellphonekings themselves and got passed all the cell phone sales, I found another customer that stated they didn't get the ear buds or loops. If they put my correction to the system, people would be able to easily see that this item is a good product, but this seller (Unlockedcellphonekings) is going to short them and they wouldn't buy.
You see my review has 3 stars which comes from the seller/vender not from the product which I still haven't even used.
